Meet Amy Regan

Amy Regan is an educator, advocate, and innovator working at the intersection of higher education, inclusion, and technology. As a professor and higher education product strategist, she is passionate about designing meaningful, data-informed systems that support students, especially those who are often overlooked. Her passion for accessibility is driven by her experience as the proud sister and legal guardian of her brother, who has Down syndrome.

What was your first job?
Scooping ice cream at a small drive-in restaurant in my hometown — classic and delicious.

Share a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know:
I LOVE rollercoasters. The bigger and faster, the better!

What’s one TEDx talk, book, or podcast that inspired you recently?
I've been loving Kibar Moussoba's "What Does It Mean To Be A Positive Person" from the 2024 TedXAM!

Describe your talk in 3 words:
Just say yes!

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don't be afraid to fail fast. It’s not about what you did wrong — it’s about how you get back up, dust yourself off, and keep going.

Favorite place in New Hampshire?
Hampton Beach — my husband’s family has a home there, and if we’re not at home, we’re probably by the water!

What song captures the essence of your TEDx talk?
“Brave” by Sara Bareilles. It’s the perfect anthem for saying yes — to yourself, to others, and to new possibilities. It’s all about finding the courage to speak up, take risks, and create space for people to be seen and heard. Just like my talk, it celebrates the power of one small word (yes) to change lives and break down barriers.
